Bangkok visit.
We planned to have a stop over in bangkok while going to India.
At Incehon airport
Bangkok the capital of Thailand is very famous among toursits for beautiful temples and palaces.
We arrived at Bangkok airport on 18th of jan 2006. Thailand issues visa on arrival for Indian tourists.

Within 10 min we got our passport stamped and went out of the airport. We hired a taxi to reach our hotel Baiyoke sky which we had booked from korea itself.
This 88 storied hotel claims to be the tallest in Thailand.
At the hotel lobby
The room we booked was not available so they upraged us to deluxe suite. The dry winter months is the best time to visit Thailand and our hotel was flowing with tourists.

By afternoon we reached the hotel which is located at the bustling Pratunam area .
After refreshing ourself we went for the much needed welcome drink being served by the hotel.
The drastic climate change from -10 degrees in korea to +25 in bangkok made kunjal very uncomfortable. The drink made her feel little better.
Enjoying the drink
We took rest for some time and went out to check(shop) the pratunam area and nearby siam square.
Pratunam has many street markets and bazars . As our main aim was shopping for the wedding of my brother in law, so we pounced upon the shops and the prices were so attractive that soon both our hands were full.
Traditional thai performances were going on at a temple near our hotel. we relaxed ourselves by enjoying the dance and then started searching place for dinner.
The performance going on .
We got a open air restaurant that claims to serve the best thai cuisine. We ordered a lobster dish and a chicken dish. The food was awsome.
we headed towards siam square after a hearty dinner .After loads of shopping we came back dead tired. Luckily Kunjal didnt disturb us much . we just needed to handover her a coconut drink whenver she was bothersome.
we retired at the hotel room around 11 at night.and sat near the window to enjoy the view of bangkok city with nicely grilled prawns accompanied with sour and hot sauce.
Next day morning we had breakfast at the sky restaurant from where one can see till far stretch of Thailand.
Breakfast time
soon after breakfast We met our guide, a young girl who speaks very good english. In Thailand the guides serve for free. Its upto the visitor to give them some tips. Since she was our personal tour guide so we could get all sorts of information regarding Thailand, its history and present.
she also enlightened us about their great king and his kindness towards subjects.
Our first destination was “Wat Trimit”, the Temple of Golden Buddha, which houses an impressive three meters tall, 5.5 ton, solid gold Buddha sculpted in the graceful Sukhothai style.

we only had half day to enjoy sight seeing . we passed by the present king's palace and other landmarks of bangkok before landing to hotel .

we went for lunch to nearby restaurant and also did the final shopping . Rushing back to hotel we packed our bags and checked out of the hotel.
This hectic trip to bangkok has been the most memorable one ,thanks to the wonderful thai food and satisfactory shopping along with the beautiful tourist spots, we wish to visit again .
