Aquarium Visit With A Few Special People

The Occassion: Samsung organised a program to give its foreign employees an opportunity to visit one of Seoul's old age home. The program was on voluntary basis. We immediately decided to join. Around 20 of us boarded a Samsung bus and reached the old age home and from there 10 elderly members joined us. We were scheduled to visit one of the biggest aquarium in Korea located inside Coex Centre in Seoul.

On the way to Aquarium

Aquarium visit:

Within an hour we were in front of Coex and soon we entered the aquarium.

Happy Shark watching

The aquarium was a big one and took around 2 hours to see it. Members from old age home were very happy to enjoy the day with us and the happiness was very visible on their face

2004 Diwali In Wonchon Resort

By this year number of Indians in Suwon has increased drastically. Suwon now is home of more than 100 Indians. Most of them working with Samsung and some in other IT companies. This time we reserved a Hall in Wonchon Resort. The place was a scenic beauty in itself. The restaurant was on a boat floating on the Wonchon lake.

The Venue. Was a treat to eyes. Every one liked it
More than 50 of us gathered together. The celebration time was from 2pm till 10pm on 13th Nov Saturday. We did not had the privilege to celebrate Diwali on the exact day as its a working day here in Korea. We really miss motherland India on all such occasion and numerous other times, to be honest we miss being in India all the time.

Introduction: First we had a introduction session where in every one came forward and said few thing about themselves.

Hello every one!! I am 100 days old Kunjal. She is my mother and the guy with Mike is my dear father.

Games and other activities:
Ths time also we had arranged many games and competition one of them being Number counting.

Number counting game:
One has to count 1 to 10 in 3 different languages e.g It would be something like one, ek, hana/two, do, dul......Ten,dus,yol for some one who chooses English, Hindi and Korean as the languages of his preference.

Announcing the Number counting Game. Austin and Rashmi (left) were anchor of the Number game

Enjoying the number counting game. It was really interesting

Couple Game: We had another interesting game for couples. One partner would write down the answer to few question like whats her fav food, colour etc. then her partner would be asked each of those question to check if they matches. It turned out be a very interesting one.

Karaoke Songs:
The restaurant had Karaoke system and many of us came out and sang excellent songs. Mood was really upbeat with all the fast beat songs and dances.

Dinesh, Glee, Dhinakar and Kumar singing chorus "Ek pal ka Jeena"

Who said only Govinda can Dance?

No Crakers No Diwali: Initially there was a small debate on whether we should go for fire crackers or not but finally the conclusion was it won't be Diwali if no crackers.as dDiwali is a festival of lights and crackers. After the games were over we went outside for cracker bursting but had to give up even before finishing up whatever few low decibel crackers we had brought with us. Making noise without permission might result in inviting Security personnel's to our party.

Without Fire crackers no Diwali

We had ordered food from a Pakistani restaurant. Yes we do get most of our spices and food items out here from Pakistani Stores and restaurants. Since the Indian mass in Korea is increasing, lots of new Indian stores are also coming up.
